Have a 686+ PC ordered and am waiting on it now .. Need a holster for it .. Looking for a Summer Comfort for an IWB holster but doesn't seem like anyone makes one for a 686 with the 2 1/2 barrel ..

Looked at Galco ... and the only one listed is the Combat Master for the 2 1/2 inch barrel .. and its OWB ..

Anyone using the Galco Southern Comfort for a 3 inch 686 with their 2 1/2 inch 686 ?? How does it fit if you do ??

Milt Sparks

I carry a 686 P all the time. Got a Milt Sparks horsehair (think called a Summer model) IWB several years ago. Love it us a Forbus I cut to length at the range and for IDPA.

Added comment: I get a phone call and The man says "this is Milt" it your gun a 6 or really a 7shot 686P. Unreal experience. Hope they are still around.

This company is one of the few that has some nice Kydex holsters for the 686. I'm gonna buy one from them soon.

I am really partial to leather holsters .. and would like to go with a leather holster to start .. Kydex has its place but for my usage I would rather have leather ..

I like the Southern Comfort but its not made for the L frame .. I can find it for the 3 inch 686 but not the 2 1/2 inch PC model ..

So am wondering if those with the 2 or 2 1/2 inch 686 models use the 3 inch holster ..

Any one doing that ? If so how is the fit ??

ordered the Cobra holster from Wright Leather Works with both attachments .. clips and straps .. have one for my S&W compact in 40 that my Beretta PX4 Sub Compact in 9mm also fits ..

excellent workmanship .. 6 weeks at least though to get it ..

I know you said you wanted IWB but you should look at this OWB. I bought one for my Talo 3" 686+. The gun rides nice in the holster and it carries real well with the proper belt.

I think if the market for large revolver, IWB holsters existed, you'd see more of them. I think the 686 is too chubbby for IWB carry. I use a Combat Master for my 2.5" snubbies.

Simply Rugged, Savoy, Wright Leatherworks, Lobo, are just a few that make IWB holsters for the 686. If you can wait 8-10 weeks for production Wright's Banshee is the finest holster I've ever owned. If you need something faster look at Simply Ruggeds Sourdough pancake holster with IWB straps...
