Hello Folks!!! I'm just looking for whatever you can tell me about my S&W .44 Magnum please?
I'm 90% sure that I got it in 1980 but my memory isn't as sharp as it used to be...Lol...

It's a Blue Model 29-2
8-3/8" Pinned Barrel
Recessed Chambers
Red Ramp
White Outline Rear Sight
.500 Target Trigger
.500 Target Hammer
Target Grips
Mahogany Box with Cleaning Kit and Screw Driver (Never Used)
Serial Number: N784859

That's all she wrote folks!!!
Thank You for your help!!! :)

Your Model 29-2 would have most likely shipped in 1980. Sounds like a great example of a later 29-2 with all of the correct accessories. The Model 29-3 was introduced in 1982.

Hey Bill!! How are you, sir?? Thank You for looking you my 29-2's information for me and for confirming that I still have some intact memory cells left at 64 years old. Like I thought, I was 90% sure that I bought it on the tail end of the spring in 1980, when I was 19 yrs old. I was conflicted on (2) different S&W N-Frames. The 29-2 and a Model 27, sorry I don't remember what dash it was, but the M27 had a 3.5" Barrel, along with the Mahogany Box as well. The best that I can remember, there wasn't a huge price difference between the 2 of them and my buddies thought I was nuts for buying that drain pipe of a .44 Mag when I could have bought the M27 in .357 Mag and fed it .38 Specials as well!!! Why would I want to do that?? Hahahaha....Now, I have 3 more .44 Mags in my safe. A S&W M629-5 Classic 8-3/8" a Ruger SBH 4-5/8" and a Ruger SBH Hunter with a 7.5" Barrel. I love shooting the 4 of them. Anyway, thank you again and I'll post some pix as soon as I can. Have a great day, sir!!!
