I'm looking for recommendations or suggestions for competition holsters for my 686 and would also appreciate any pic's if available.

I've not shot/competed from holster before but having moved state and joined a new club that requires holster accreditation to compete, I need to set myself up with one for my 686 (and my M41), however I'm not having much luck searching the Australian retailers as yet for either.

The only holster that I've found yet on-line for a 686 is the Safariland Model 002 Cup Challenge Competition:

any thoughts/suggestions?

thanks and cheers

I used a BladeTech Comp holster last year for my 686 6"pc. I like it and ordered one for my 929 and wife's 627. We have used the CR Speed holster...and like them, but like the simplicity of just putting the gun back in a holster without locking it in place. The A/A RaceMaster holster is popular at matches, but I never used one.

Thanks for the response, these look good and I'll have a closer look at them, they seem to be available here in Oz. I have a friend over in the States at the Shot Show at the moment and he's going to check them out for me as well if there's anyone showing them there.

Larks, I have a Safariland 002 that I'm willing to give to you for the cost of shipping. I bought some Davis grips from another forum member a few years ago and he threw in the holster. I'll send you some photos. I'm assuming it's ok to ship a holster from the U.S. to Australia.

By the way, my daughter studied in Australia for a semester a few years back and had a great experience.

Thank you Spad, that's a very generous and kind offer, I'll drop you a PM.
