Good evening, I would like to find the date shipped for this model 27-3, s/n is in photo but in case it is hard to read it is N9 31 708. I would also like to learn what the variation "3" was for the 27-3. Other details if the pictures aren't good enough quality: 6" barrel, 3 screws. Thank you for your help!

The dash 3 change (in 1982) eliminated the pinned barrel and the recessed cylinders (the counterbore). That last change also led to a slight change in cylinder length. I have no precise information on dating your guns beyond it was made in the period between 1982 and 1986 (probably on the earlier side).
