Hi, I just purchased a 625-7 (sn: LCH0122) revolver in .45 Colt. It's steel, and the 6" barrel holds six rounds. It came in a Performance Center aluminum attache case. I'm looking for information on it (year made, what pressures it can take, etc.).
Thanks for any help you might provide!

625-7 is a pre-lock and is a 45 ACP...5.25" barrel...

Is there a box label inside your aluminum case? Does yours have a lock?

My 625-7 is a .45 Colt with a 6.5" barrel with a Power-Port (I have no idea why - Smith's marketing people maybe?)...

The odd/even engineering change number correlating to ACP/Colt does not always hold true.

Adios,

It's been a good number of years, but I recall that we kept the pressures in the Smith .45 Colts to around 23k, compared to the Redhawk and Anaconda at 30k.
