Looking for information about revolver

I have a S&W 65-2 with serial number 1D998xx can anyone shed some light on when this was produced. It is stamped on the side A.C.P.D which I believe is for Atlantic City police department.

The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson shows serial numbers:
1D45001 through 1D99999 were shipped in 1979 through 1980. If I had to guess, I would say yours was shipped in 1980.

I do not know about the ACPD marking.
