Looking for some new custom grips for.....

......My new 1911s. I hope this forum is acceptable for this post. I was unable to find a 1911 fourm,

Alright then, I've had my two new 1911s for 3 weeks now and It's time to start thinking about dressing them up a bit, not that they don't look great right now but I've seem some beautiful custom grips on 1911s and I wanna get me some. Soon as I let my resources recover from this last splurge for a month or so I'll be ready to make my move. Some pics for illustration and some sources would be RILLY nice. Thanks.

Depending on how fancy you are looking for, Ahrends grips has some nice looking wood options. I just purchased a CMD model and am thinking his tactical models in a Red Stained Maple would look nice. Function and beauty all rolled into one.

I got these at one of our local gun shows from Cherokee Hills Handcrafted Exotic Wood Grips. (Cherokee Hills)
These are desert ironwood but they have many different ones.
After the grips you might want some nice leather.

On my ccw 1911 I use the full wrap around rubber grips. Otherwise it's real wood grips on a 1911. I prefer to replace the original plastic 1911 grips with wood. I really would like a few pairs of exotic wood grips.

Go to; ebay search for "1911 rose wood grips" look at the s&w rose wood grips too.

1911 grips.........choices are almost endless................... I don't think Hogue has been mentioned.

I went with a set from Wicked Grips when my custom Colt was finished last fall, their stuff is top notch. Mine are ebony with zebrawood inlays. Wicked Grips custom wood grips
