If you've noticed, silver has dropped to near $13. However, I haven't been able to find a seller at below $17. Anyone seen an ad for not a gouge price over spot? TIA!!!

I bought a roll of AU Peace dollars at a gunshow on Saturday.

I gave to much for them it seems!:)

I bet folks won't part with it a near spot, they'll hang on to it.

I bought about 300 US Eagles over a period of maybe two years. Bought a lot of them from JM Bullion. Buying 20 pieces at the order, it seems like I paid about $2.50 premium over spot. I checked their website this morning, and they were charging about a$6.00 premium. They also have a $299 minimum order, and say volume is so heavy you can expect a 10 day delay in having your order processed.

That trade I made last fall, silver for an AR 15, is looking better and better.

As of 11:00 CDT gold was trading at 1483.00/oz and silver was 12.74/oz
and both of these were falling. Oil was under 30.00/barrel so it seems
the commodity markets are following the Dow.
Guns and ammo are in high demand around the nation with waiting
lines in some states.
The last silver dollar coins I bought were 7 dollars and change and it
was less than 30 years ago gold was 390/oz. I am just saying it
can go a lot lower.

I bought this exactly 40 years ago for $760. It's almost doubled in that time, what an investment. The same $760 would have purchased 58 shares of Disney stock (I was building EPCOT at the time and had plenty $$$). With 2 four for one splits and one 3 for one, I'd have 2784 shares today and even with the recent haircut, at today's $95 sh., It'd be around $265,000. I'm such a crafty typhoon. Joe

I don't the sellers are necessarily gouging. Who knows when they bought it to begin with, and at what price? If they'd rather hold it than take a loss, that seems smart to me.

Yeah but you can't hold Disney in your hand! :D

We're tycoons.

I use a service. Montana Rarities. I get silver in the mail every month and the prices are good, Its an allotment from my bank account so I dont have to think about it. It comes in the mail, I put it with the rest. Easy peasy. Stacks up fast like that.
If only there was a way to do ammo like that, I would do it.
