This was in the latest flyer. 5% off all the time on everything, including guns and ammo.

I went online and entered some basic info and got it automatically applied to web purchases. At the store you just show an ID. I’m just a vet, not active or retired, and it worked. Colorado has a V on the DL so I’ll use that at the store.

I find decent deals once in a while at my local store. This is a nice thing to have to bring the price down a bit.

Good for Cabela’s.

IIRC Cabela’s only did away with the vet discount on guns and ammo. They must have reinstated it on those items because I’ve received the discount a couple times last week. Sportsman’s Warehouse also gives a 5% vet discount

I'm done with Cabelas! I HAD a Cabelas credit card for 25+ years until earlier this year! After the Bass Pro buy out and Capitol One taking over the credit card part of Cabelas I ended up with 4 different card numbers in 3 months! Capitol One gives out your new card number to monthly recurring charges and my old card number was stolen. The offender opened a recurring charge and was given my new number every time before I even received the new card. Capitol One told me to "log in to the account and close the ACCOUNT"! The account was opened by the offender and I had no idea what the account name and password was! I can not estimate how many hours I spent with the phone stuck to my ear and it lasted for 3 months! Bass Pro gutted the gun libraries in the 3 stores I frequented so there's no reason to go back!

I didn’t realize it ever ended.
I haven’t been there in a few months, though.

Didn't realize there ever was one.

Sent Cabela's buckets of bucks from an APO address
in Germany in the Eighties, never got no steenkin'
discount.

I have bought a lot of guns, clothes and even boots at Cabelas 5 mins away from me. The 5% discount almost covers the tax. Cabela brand clothing was pretty good. Bass Pro Red Head brand clothing has replaced all the Cabela brand and it's junk in comparison. The current Bass Pro approach to gun sales is ridiculous. I don't shop at Cabelas any more.

Bought a rifle at Bass Pro a couple of weeks ago. I asked about discount for vets, and guy said yes, if I had an ID card or it was on my DL. I asked him if a DD-214 would do, having brought a copy along. He said it would, but I realized I left it in my truck. Told him I'd go get it, and he said he'd take my word for it. Saved about $60, same vet discount I got last time I bought a rifle at Sportsman's.

I bought a handgun at Cabela's a couple of months after the buyout. No discount then. Hassle too. Haven't been back since then and they iced it by closing the bargain cave. Thankfully, I have several alternatives.
