Looks like the Southern UK is in for a rough night

A major storm is expected to sweep across Southern England in the next 24 hours. Lots of warnings for wind damage and flooding. Even the railways are saying they will be hit at commuter time. 1987 all over again?

It's a rain storm. Up here we'd call it a "Nor' easter" or "Wicked bad rain storm". This is a far crime from the nation that conquered about half the known world at the height of it's empire.

About all they didn't do was shout "Auntie Em! Auntie Em!"
