My 5-screw K-22 has a bit of front sight wobble on the factory patridge sight. Does anyone know the appropriate fix for this?

Searching the forums seems to show a couple solutions:
- Use a wicking loctite like loctite 290
- Remove the pin and peen the sight
- Remove the pin and shim the sight
- Remove the pin and loctite the sight

What size is the front sight pin on 5-screw K frame? Just eyeballing it I'm concerned the 1/16" punch is a bit too big and will mar the finish since it won't fit.

Also, do the front sight pins drive out left-to-right and drive in right-to-left like traditional rifle sights?

Without seeing it, I suppose the least intrusive and without permanently altering the front sight, you could remove the pin, use a shim and re-pin the front blade back.

Just Locktite alone would probably come loose under recoil and heat of the muzzle flash.

BTW, I do not know how much the "wiggle room" is, but if you can use two thinner shims (one on each side) in stead of one, that would still keep the blade centered. Stainless Shim Stock is usually available from a machine shop supply Co.

I had a similar situation with the front blade on a .44 mag Mountain Gun years ago. After spraying the area with a degreaser, I wicked in a drop of cheap super glue into the slot on one side of the blade. That was decades and a zillion shots ago and the blade is still tight. Maybe I got lucky, but my highly skilled gunsmithing worked on that day!
