Just purchased a Louisville PD 175 years stamped M66-2. It came in a wood case with the LPD sheild on the top of the box. It has the LPD shield and 175th anniversary stamped on the side plate. On the barrel, Louisville Police Department 1984, Limited Edition 1 of 124. I would appreciate any information about this gun. Thanks.

There has to be someone with some knowledge about this gun. But again, there were only 124 made. I bought this at a local gun shop in Louisville, Ky. and had heard another one had sold a week earlier at another store locally. Can't wait to try it out at the range, if it ever quits raining. Thanks.

Sorry I don't have the answers to your questions, but I have a question for you! What gun shop in Louisville did you find that 66?

Call the P.D. and try and get in touch with someone at their range. Rangemasters are usually a good source of information on anniversary type guns from their departments.

If you can get a coupla' good pictures up, I'd like to see it.

Keisler Police Supply might have been the vendor on that, it's across the river from you. It's Orion Arms ( I think ) now.

I have a friend in Jeffersonville that might have some info on your revolver, I'll ask him.

Not for sure if these pics will post. Still learning. Anyway, hear are a few pics of the LPD 175th Anniversary 66-2. Along with the wood presentation case, It came with the cardboard box, tools, and all documents.

These revolvers (they were offered in model 19 blue and model 66, even though standard LPD issue at the time was the model 67) were offered to members of the Louisville Division of Police in the mid 80s. They turn up occasionally for sale in the Louisville area, as do former LPD service revolvers (model 10 heavy barrels, model 67s, model 29-2s, model 60s, and a few 66s-which were only issued to select personnel when the department could not longer acquire the standard issue 67s). These former issue guns were ones traded in, or purchased by officers when the department went to the model 6906 in 1990.
