I have a few pairs of what I consider premium Sambar Stag grips, but they are all Service Style type grips. I used to have a pair of N frame Sambar Stag Target grips, but let them get away in a moment of weakness.:( I have been looking for a pair of Magna grips for quite a few years, and last week I was able to get a pair. They are K frame grips and just exactly like I like them. They are old enough to have that mellow color change that naturally takes many, many years to get. They also have a lot of bark with popcorn that can only be described as “gnarly”. They are really heavy. I love them! Here they are pictured on my “newest to me” blued S&W M&P with 2” barrel. This is the gun that my rare K Frame Square Butt Checkered Diamond Service Stocks With Flush Large 1/2” Silver Medallions came on. What do you folks think?

Congratulations on your new stags. I think they look great. I really like the look of Sambar. I have three sets.

Actually, Gun Broker.

They are nice!!

Great fit also. I have been slowly moving all my service grip stuff to new homes. Any thing on the backs ?

paplinker, I don’t remember seeing anything on the back, so no idea who made them, but I’ll get a picture of the backs later today to make sure.

OP very nice set on a great gun. I bought both these pairs of Eagle Sambar Stag at gun shops several years ago for $100 each. At the time new pairs were in the $250-$300 range I believe.

The pair of Sambar Stag Target grips I used to have were made by Eagle. Raj Singh, the owner, told me they used to belong to his father.

I bought this Single Six to get the stags. Turned out I liked the gun too.

I’ve done that before too. They do look nice. Back in the day, Ruger would sometimes put some spectacular Sambar Stag grips on their Blackhawks, and those took quite a chunk of stag!

Picked these up several years ago for my 34-1.

Those look great and are well matched.

WOW PaulDoc, those 3 sets are superb, and all of them match well too. Do you have any idea who made them? It’s a real shame Sambar Stag can no longer be imported from India. Thanks for sharing.

Not a clue. I purchased two of them from fellow members here. The magnas on the 38/44 were bought elsewhere. None are marked on the back.

Not quite Sambar, but maybe worth a look...This 19-4 came to me this weekend as I was helping a buddy at his tables...A forum member here (who may identify himself if he so chooses) happened to walk by, and after some light negotiation I slipped off into the night with this prize...The elk stags originated from a certain other member we all know in Colorado...And wouldn't you know it, when I got home and started rummaging around, I found a box that might suit the purpose that came from yet another member here...Lousy cellphone pics were taken before this beauty gets its welcome shine at Dunkin Gunwash...

It pays to know people...Life is good......Ben

I bought an old-style Ruger Bearcat a number of years ago. LGS owner asked if I'm interested in a set of stags for $75.00 to put on there. That took about a split second for a decision. :D

However, I'm not as fond of "popcorn" as some of y'all which is why I have these elks by bgmntmn:
