Love Me Some Sambar Stag!

Ben, if you didn’t even know that you had that superb pair of Sambar Stag grips, maybe you should just send them to me for safe keeping!👍 I definitely won’t misplace something as nice as that.

Larry I'll certainly consider your generous and sincere offer...My increasingly faulty memory at my advancing age combined with the problem of a burgeoning population in my safe (now numbering about 130) renders the occasional oops-where-did-I-put-that-one moment...This is why I get tables at the Conroe gun show once in a while, just to take a head count, and make sure none of my children have strayed from the fold...Next census will be taken in October, I just hope three tables is enough...

Here's a couple more pics of that particular .38/44 HD, focusing more on the gun rather than the stags...It was actually the gun that kickstarted my collection again about 5 years ago when I saw the poor old dust-covered relic tucked away in the back of a bottom shelf while visiting a local pawn shop...It was seriously filthy and wearing a pair of Jay Scott K-frame fake stags...The poorly reflected photos are the product of my experimenting with background colors in my new RK Mesa inspired light box...I should have stayed with white...:o...Ben

Ben is there some forum info or a thread somewhere on his light box? I'd like to take better photos with less reflection.

Here's the one I bought...

Richard mentioned using one in an earlier thread which got me to thinking about it...I regret not getting the bigger one, but I went the cheap route as usual......Ben

Ben, that was definitely a great gun to kickstart your collection again! Not only did it help you out, but you took a dust-covered overlooked orphan wearing fake stags, and turned it into the “Cock of the Walk” with a polishing job, and that pair of fantastic Sambar Stag grips. It would be King of the pawnshop now for sure!

Also, if you are going to follow someone’s lead, as far as picture taking goes, RKmesa is THE KING! His “drool worthy” pictures have caused the demise of many a forum member’s computer from being completely covered in uncontrollable saliva.🤤😂

BTW, can you hook a brother up with some WD-40?😜
