I went to my LGS at lunch. I was looking at used pistols...nothing caught my eye. As I was leaving one of the workers there pointed to a very small sign in the rifle case window. 1000 round cases of Lake City 5.56 ball ammo for $600. Available until they are gone. They must have had 30 or 40 cases. I don't know where they got them but I didn't leave without one. A month ago that would have been a very expensive case. Now it's a good deal.

I never thought that I'd see the day where $600.00 for a case of 5.56 would be considered a good deal!

And you still haven't IMO. No matter how scared the sheep get there is no way $600 for 1000 rounds of 223 can ever be considered a "good deal", EVER!

Take notes people and remember the stores who raised their prices for no good reason other than to make 400% on their investment. They do have the right to charge what they want but we also have the right not to support them in the future.

Don't be too hard on them though. Some are saying greed, but we need to remember, when the stuff they have is gone how are they going to pay their employees, their rent, their utilities, etc.

Some of these higher prices are to help them tide over until they can stock regular supplies again.

$600/1000 a good deal? Yikes! I hate to look like I am bragging, but I am still shooting Federal 5.56 that has $69.00 price tags on the #500 case.
