Been shooting my M625-8(JM) at our monthly IDPA and ASI matches recently and am really enjoying it. Has been a while since I used it for a variety of reasons but I’m glad I brought it out of semi retirement. Just love it’s accuracy, reloading ease and it shoots “big boy bullets”

I replaced the mainspring and TRS with the Wilson kit with good results. I also have a green FO front sight and VZ round to square grips on it.

It now has me hankering for a 22-4. :-)

So who as a 625 in 45 ACP, how do you like it and what do you use it for?

I bought new 3" and 5" guns more than twenty years ago and shoot them regularly with cast bullets mostly at 25 yards, bullseye style. These guns did so well, I bought a new 22-4 not long after they came out fifteen (?) or so years ago. Another good cast bullet gun. I seldom use ACP brass, much preferring Auto Rim.

I've never really done a side-by-side accuracy comparison, but my '70s 25-2 may be slightly more accurate than the newer guns.

I’ve got a 5” 625-3 that I shoot pretty regularly. Just target shooting at the range, nothing competitive. It’s a great gun to shoot, and accurate. I just recently started shooting .45 Super in it on occasion. I really like shooting moon clipped revolvers and have several others, including a 1917, 1937 Brazilian Contract, 5” and 6” Model 610’s and a Ruger SRH in 10mm.

I'm a huge fan of 45acp revolvers. My preferences lie with older guns, but I bought a 625-2 (Model of 1988) because a great deal presented itself, and I decided to go for it. Turns out that I found a gem of a revolver. Pictured with the 625 are a couple of its predecessors, a model 1950 (pre-26) and a Model 1955 (pre-25). I also have two Model 1917's from S&W and Colt. Shooting with moonclips makes them even more fun. The BMT tool makes loading and unloading the clips a breeze, and you'll forget the cost once you use it.

My most used revolver:

Shot it yesterday in a club match. 24 degrees! No one did very well!
