I heard from an extremely reliable source that Next Level Armament is in the process of releasing on of their Ambidextrous charging handles for the S&W M&P 15-22. considering I havent seen any others on the market I think this is a pretty damn good idea.

If it doesn't happen, stay away from Eric at Doomsday Industries. Lol He makes a really nice feeling one however 90% of the people who got one. (Me included) got duped. The ambidextrous part doesn't work. And he never responded to emails or refunds.

Also, I know someone said the South African made MST ambi handle was just purchased and someone's gonna try to manufacture more later in the year in the US. I own 2 MST handles and couldn't be happier.

That handle looks nice though. If you get one post a review!

You can just buy some types of ambi levers and install them on the stock charging handle. I did that back in 2011. seemed to work fine.

Not soon enough.
I wish I could be more specific, but I don't want to break any promises.
We "should" have them ready by the Christmas season. But no promises.

ambi meaning either side of the handle can activate the latch. some people only use the side of one finger to pull the handle, so a righty could put his left hand up and pull the left side of the handle. Activating the latch and charging the handle. While a lefty could not bring his right hand up and activate the latch from just pulling the right side of the handle. A lefty would need to put both fingers around the handle so that the latch could be activated.

Clearly, I'm doing it wrong. I hold the foregrip/forestock of the rifle with my right hand and charge with the first two fingers of my left hand, an activity that can be accomplished with the rifle shouldered. Doesn't matter which side of the handle activates the latch, because I always grab both. I am trying to understand what you're describing, but it seems inefficient to me, and I can't visualize working the handle with my right hand. Then again, what do I know?

Muss muggins do you also change mags with your left hand? Just curious.
i like to leave my trigger hand in place to opperate all controls( i also use a bad lever) and only use my support hand to change mags or charge handle. Not criticizing just curious. What ever works best for you is the right way!

what type of coating is usually used on charging handles? Just curious because i have never seen an OD GREEN or FDE one. hint hint. just sayin ;)
