HelloAll; I had a chance to shoot my brand new 15-22 this morning before the big snow.Dissapointment would be an under statement to say the lease.I could'nt get 5 shots in a row to save my ass.I tried rem. golden, rem.reg hv, federal hv, and windchester.Nothing would work, I made a trip back to Gander [thats where i bought it] and the gun smith said to try cci minimags so i bought a $9.00 box of them. I also stopped at dicks and bought a 333 pack of federal 36g hollow points [1280fps]. Hopefully this change in ammo will do the trick, if not i guess i will have to send it back to s&w. What ammo hve you all been using and am i an isolated incident? thanks in advance pghrich.

My guess is you need to adjust the ejector. There is a video for do-it-yourself here. Absent this fix you're rife is likely to fail.

From what I have been told you need to stay with the better brands of ammo (CCI, Federal) I have been told
to stay away from Remington all together.

Failure to eject is a problem if the ejector ain't in the right position. Look for the dozens of messages how to check and correct if out of position.

Failure to eject is also an issue if the extractor ain't there...

start with the basics... did you clean your rifle very well then reoiled it before you shot it?.. the goo these things are pack in from the factory will not let them run.. not trying to say you dont know what your doing just starting with the simplest problems first..

My advice would be to take the weekend and read this entire forum, almost every question you have and probably will ever have will be answered.

congrats on the new gun, unfortunately, some/most 15-22's need some fine tunning and some breaking in to get to run right.
