M&P 15-22 Rapid Fire ?

When I rapid fire, the guns sounds like it's getting weaker and weaker, anyone else's do that? It jams about 10 to 15 rounds down the tube. A couple of times it fired a little out of battery, gets smoky by the bolt when that happens, stuff fly's everywhere. Seems to be fine if I shoot a little slower. by rapid fire I'm talking about splits less than .20

I've emptied a number of magazines as fast as I can pull the trigger with no noticable issues at all.

Ejector issue?

What ammo you using?

27, I don't think it's the ejector, maybe. I never get FTE's, but I do get at least 1 jam per mag. I did tweak the ejector a little, then went out and shot 4 mags. First mag was fast doubles, no issue, sounded normal. 2nd mag, full throttle, no jams, but it did start to sound like it's getting weaker. 3rd mag, full throttle again, sounded weaker as the mag got emptier, but I did have 1 jam around 15 rounds. 4th mag, not quite full throttle, sounded better, no jams.

I think it might be firing a little out of battery. I'll mess with it more this weekend and try to get a video.

oh yeah, I'm using Federal bulk from WW

mine jammed like crazy right out of the box, sent it back to S&W, got it back, been great ever since, i mainly use The Federal Bulk from WW. Also use CCI minimags and Winchester SuperX. Love my 15-22.

I don't know for sure, and it all depends on the bolt speed, but I suppose it's possible that you are releasing the hammer before the bolt is all the way forward. Which could cause an OOB discharge, but is more likely to end up with a weak primer strike as the bolt absorbs the hammer's energy. Sort of like a hammer follow, without the actual sear/disconnect failure. But it's not likely. You'd have to have a pretty fast finger to do that.

Most likely, it's just hot bits of carbon/fouling that's spitting out with the casings. Some ammo is very inconsistent.

Any other .22 and wouldn't think that the hammer would have enough power to push the bolt forward and fire the primer, but this is an AR trigger, which is pretty dag-gum powerful. My finger's pretty fast, not as fast when I was younger, but I don't really think it's my finger either. Something else is going on. My buddy was watching it, and he said you can see something out of the ordinary, but it's happening so fast, it's hard to tell what. I'll try to get video this weekend, I don't know if it will show anything, but at least y'll know what I'm talking about.
