Has anyone tried using the GG&G agency rear sling adapter on their rifle? I just got mine in the mail yesterday and tried putting it on but it doesn't fit exactly right. I thought I had seen some other people with them on their 15-22. If you have it on there did you have to modify anything to make it fit properly? Thanks.
Also to remove the stock do you have to knock the pin out of the screw on the latch?

Pull down on the latch and it'll slide off the end of the lower receiver extension.

Not sure what rear sling adapter you're referring to. Goes on the stock? Goes on the lower receiver extension? The slot works well for me.

Tactical Rear Sling Mount Adapter for Collapsible Stocks - Stock Side Sling Adapter

This is the rear sling adapter. You can't mount a one point sling on the stock, it's too far back so it doesn't work right. It needs to go on a sling adapter. Most of the sling adapters go behind the nut or over the nut that would be on a normal AR15 buffer tube but since this doesn't have that the normal ones won't work. I thought this one would work since it has a screw to hold it in place but I think I'll have to modify it a little. I'll have to do it after I get the gun back from S&W I just got my slip to mail it back today.

Thanks.

You're going to have a couple of problems related to the lower receiver extension.

The first being the bottom "rail" on the 15-22 runs the full length of the extension; the real one is just a tube near the receiver. Not sure how the "Agency" mount will attach with this rail in the way.

The second is the profile of the lower receiver where it meets the extension is also quite different on the 15-22. It's longer and tapered while the real receiver is square at the end where the receiver extension nut connects the two parts together.

The plate will stand proud from the receiver extension and may interfere with working the operating handle. If you can even get it mounted at all.

Hard to see, but there's a sling plate on the upper rifle.

Thanks for the pic. I'm mailing it out tomorrow to S&W but I might try and notch it when I get it back. Thanks for your help.

I think this one will have the same problem with the lower "rail" on the receiver extension. Doesn't seem to have a deep enough cut in the adapter to fit around it.

Yeah I wondered about that too. That is why I have not bought one yet. Product depictions are inaccurate sometimes though. At least that has been the case for me. So I keep wondering if maybe one of those would work for us.

Our receiver extensions', outside dimensions, are supposed to be milspec though right? The smith, I spoke with last week, confirmed that. He also said, that "lower rail" is solid and would be safe to drill for that little roll pin.

Darn it. I was hoping someone would chime in, to say they had either tried one, or had got one on there successfully.

The AR15-22 lower receiver extension is milspec diameter so the Mag Pul stock (or whatever the darling stock is this month) will fit on it. (The DOE carbine in the upper photo has a military lower receiver extension and the same stock will slide securely onto the 15-22.)

Thanks Chuck. I just took another look at that pic, and the "rail", or whatever it is really called :D, is smaller, on full caliber ARs, near the receiver.

I guess you could modify the notch in the mount though.

The notch on that adapter looks smaller than the GG&G one. On the first one it's about 1/4 to 1/2 off. So when I tried to tighten the screw it would twist a little bit. It did stay on pretty solid but it crooked and it didn't go all the way around the stock extension. It seems like you could just cut some of it down with a dremel to make it fit better.

Thanks Jase. Enlarging the notch is what I was thinking too.
