M&P 15 Recall-Anyone know about this?

Was at the Rural King in my old home town today, looking to buy an M&P 15 Sport 2. I asked at the counter and was told they had to take them out of inventory and return to S&W. Rifles involved were produced from Feb. 2018 to Feb. 2019.

I had never heard of a recall on the M&P 15's and thought I would aske here, what it was about?

So, it's for the 15-22; not the M&P 15 sport 2 AR-15? Rural King employees/management got it wrong then!! They are sending back all the Sport 2's....:-(

I think maybe the sales person at RK, and/or Management might have gotten confused. Nothing on the S&W site other than 15-22.

It's the M&P 15-22. I sent in for the gauge, received it and my 15-22 does not to be returned to get a new bolt.

Big box store gun counter employees are some of the worst when it comes to ignorance about what is going on and firearms in general. Not to say all are bad since there are some that are retired police or military, or spent their lives in competition shooting and what not but a place like Rural King or Walmart would be more likely to put someone behind the counter that meets minimum knowledge levels to fill a gap in the coverage schedule than not.

I got mine within 10 days. My bolt is GTG.

Depends on luck... I posted the original alert in the 15-22 section on March 8 and ordered the gauge the same day. Today, March 31, most folks in the thread have received their gauge... except me.

Online. I called first and they told me that I had to do it online.

I ordered mine March 18 still waiting. I called they said 2 more weeks they should be in. I dont know about qc at S&W there are alot of recalls there
