Wondering if someone could confirm that the BabyUpLULA will work with the M&P .22 magazine?

I have one and it works great on the M&P 22 magazines. Even though the mags are easy to load without one, I found that doing it without the aid of the loader gets old when you are shooting about 300 rounds per session.

I ordered up the Brass Stacker since it was cheaper than the BabyUplula (I really like the 9mm Uplula!).
Well, yeah, but the BabyUplula is a speed loader (pushes down the rounds in the mag or follower, making room for the next round, working the same as the UpLula), while the Brass Stacker is just a thumb saver like the X12-Lula.

So I just tried the BabyUplula on my .22 magazine and when loading the first 4-5 rounds the uplula spring does pop the uplula back up.

The magazine fits in very snug and it's almost like the uplula spring doesn't have enough tension to spring it back up. After the 5 round it works fine.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I bought the Brass Stacker and it works great for this application and the price is much less. Simple and efficient.

I have both but the brass stackers works the best. My opinion of course. And it also works on my SR22!! Bonus.

I had the same issue with mine and found that the button on the side of the mag used for reloading without a loader is riding on the inside of the Uplula and for the first 4-5 rounds the loader's spring is not strong enough to push it up. After those first rounds the button clears the loader and you are good to go. There is a ridge on the inside of the loader where the button rides and I took a file and removed it greatly improving it. Then put some Essox, Frog Lube, whatever on the inside of the loader and the button and except for an occasional first round hanging up it works ok. I'm guessing after some additional use it will come around and work as well as the original one I use on my larger cal. mags.

I bought one the thumbsaver types, made for the S&W22A and filed it out to work with the M&P22.
See photo of before and after.

I started out using the Baby Uplula with my M&P 22, but dropped it in favor of the Brass Stacker. The Brass Stacker is less expensive and easier to use. And I like the lanyard that it comes with. I do like the Uplulas for my 9mm and 40 cal M&P's and I also have ones for my .223 and 9mm rifles.

I actually asked the question to the people that make the Baby Uplula whether their product will work properly with the M&P22. This response was from Guy Tal, CEO of Maglula, Ltd....

Sir,

Our upcoming X12 LULA will do the job ! Available next month.

Thanks,

Guy

I looked on the Maglula website and they actually show an x12 Lula, this seems to be very similar to the Brass Stacker. I'm a bit confused about the e-mail response I received from Maglula now. With the Baby Uplula, it does not state that it works with the M&P22. If it works for you, great! From what I'm reading here, it doesn't exactly work 100%. The regular Uplula works very well on my M&P 9 FS magazines.

I have a Baby Uplula that I use on my 380, and when I got my M&P 22 I tried it on my magazines. It didn't really work, so I ordered the Brass Stacker. It works like a charm, and I believe that it is faster than using the Uplula products. By the way I also use the Uplula (full-size) on my 9mm, 40, and 45.

i just got my baby uplula in for my M&P 22 today and right out of the box it does work but the thumb help is in the way for the 1st 5 rounds then works great. so much easy using the uplula vs hand loading them.
what i did is i took my thumb helper out of my mag altogether and it work 100%.

I think I'll keep using the Brass Stacker, works very well all the time. Might wait till Maglula makes one just for the M&P 22. IMHO don't think you should have to take any mag apart or wait until ya load the first 5 rounds for it to work properly.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Does the pull down button on the magazine have any function other than making the magazine easier to load?

I took the mag apart and removed the pull down button and the BabyUpLULA works perfect now.

I just want to make sure that the pull down button doesn't serve another function.

not that i can tell. if you think about it if doesnt touch anything with its the gun and the round stay in the mag like thay should so i see no reason why it it would hurt to remove it. the gun should see no difference. but i have not shoot my M&P 22 without the pull down button.

i have cycled the gun all 12 rounds manually and seen no problems
