I’ve owned the original Full Size M&P 22 for about 10 years and never changed out my original sights. Has anything really been developed as a replacement in all of these years? I was thinking about the Dawson Sights but was concerned about how the fiber optic pipes are not really protected. I then came across the XS Sights (iDot). I really hate the OEM sights. I know its a 22 but I’d still like to have something decent. I’m so use to shooting traditional 3 Dots after years working in LE and can’t get use to the all blacked our rear sight and tiny front sight. Does anyone have the XS sights on their Full Size Model. The XS website says that it fits the M22 Pistol. I contacted customer service and asked if the sights would fit and was told they fit both the Full Size and Compact. Hmm - I always thought the Compact sights were different and not compatible. Looking for honest reviews from someone that has these sights or something else. I guess my last alternative is to sell the full size and get a Compact — at least it has somewhat of a traditional sight picture with 3 dots.

I own a full size M&P 22. I installed the hiviz fiber optic on the front and run the stock rear on it. The fiber optic tube is some what protected and has different tubes you can switch out red, green or white. I did black out the rear sight. Because I run black in the rear and fiber optic front on my IDPA rig, and wanted it the same for practice. I have no experience with XS sights. I can tell you I run a fiber optic on my IDPA rig and it is not shielded like the hiviz on my 22 and it has served me well for 7 years with no problems. I have bought extra fiber optic tubes on amazon and keep them in my range bag just in case but haven't had to replace it. I keep them cut to length a drop of super glue will hold a new tube in place if needed changed out. Dawson are top notch in my opinion. Lets us know what you go with.

After considering all options I went with the HiViz Lightwave Sights. The fiber optic pipes seemed to be a little larger diameter and better for my eyes than the others available. HiViz has a specific front sight for the M&P 22. For the rear I went with the model designed for M&P 9mm Pistols. It took me 10 minutes using 1200 grit sand paper to dress up the underside of the base of the sight to get it to securely fit in the slide.

I finally was able to shoot a bit yesterday and point of aim and point of impact is dead on. I know its a .22 but I wish there were easy options to upgrade the trigger. Anyone have any solutions?

Me, too. Mine is the Compact, bought because it was Made in USA and had a better reputation for reliability. It has been very reliable, 100% with MiniMags, but the dinky size and tough trigger reduce the Fun Factor.
Sig P322 has a better trigger and holds lots more ammo, Walther PPQ .22 has a considerably better trigger and holds some more ammo. But both are also dinky and light because they will not use a slide designed like Marvel/Nelson 1911 or CZ Kadet.
