M&P .357 Sig

Just picked up an M&P .357 Sig FS from CDNN for $429 which includes night sights and no mag disconnect. Understand that S&W discontinued this model so thought I better jump on this price before they sold out. Will pick it up from my dealer on Thursday.

That's a shame S&W has discontinued the M&Ps in 357 Sig as it's a great cartridge. A friend with an M&P40c bought an extra factory barrel ($50) in 357 Sig. We dropped it in and it shot beautifully to the POA and we were both impressed with the 357 Sig cartridge. Hope this cartridge doesn't go the way of the 41 Magnum, that would be a shame.

I love the round myself! I don't have an M&P in it though. (In case you're wondering, a third Gen G31.)

I never understood how this cartridge did not gain a better following. When you look at the agencies that adopted it (several federal agencies, numerous state police/dps) it seems to fill so many rolls, that it should have had a tremendous civilian following. Good thing that I have never subscribed to following the crowd (like the 10mm, .357sig and .41 magnum).

The full sized 357s are still out there but Compacts are getting harder to find.

My M&P357C is bigger and heavier than my RAMIs and the Glock 33.

However, CZ doesn't offer any .357 SIGs...and the M&P handles
recoil better than the Baby Glock 357.

Those depts or agencies that want all the advantages of the
.357 SIG cartridge will still be able to order the M&P 357s.

Yep, got all three now: 1) M&P .357 Sig; 2) Ruger .41 Magnum, and 3) Glock 20 10mm.

You do know they use the same magazine, right? S&W marks them as such.

I don't know if that is rumor or fact about the discontinuation as it has gone on for over a year and the guns are still available. I do have a FS and compact in this caliber and liked it so much I bought a companion Glock 31. Several LE agencies in Texas use this round.

I'm on the hunt right now for a .357 Sig M&P and it will be my next gun.

I've got the M&P in .357 Sig in both full size and compact. Also bought factory .40 barrels for both of them.
I think it's a dandy cartridge in a great firearm.
