I have a S&W 40 M&P shield and the take down lever has a roll pin under it. I have gone to the range a few times and after shooting 50-100 rounds through it that pin starts to back out where I can't use the lever to get the slide off unless I am driving that pin back into the gun. I don't think this is normal but any help on this issue would be helpful, Thanks in advance.

You might talk to the shop where you bought the pistol, they might have a gunsmith who can help you.
You can also contact S&W customer service. They may have you send it in. Their customer service is pretty good.
The Shield is a nice shooting pistol. The pin can be fixed and the gun will give you years of good service.

That roll pin should definitely NOT be walking out. You should contact S&W so they can look at it, that roll pin goes thru the barrel locking block and should be a tight drive-in fit.

I had a similar issue on an MP 40c. Smith customer service advised taking a punch and just tapping the end a little. That resolved the issue. Or you could replace the roll pin.
