I recently purchased a brand new M&P 9C. It came with two factory 12 round magazines, and I got it just in time to get the rebate offer for two more magazines for free. Of the mags that came with it, one had the finger rest on the floor plate of the mag, and the other did not. I like the feel of the one with the extension versus the one without. I have searched the S&W website and have not been able to find just the finger rest extension without having to buy the whole magazine. I also searched google and have come up with nothing. Anyone know where I could acquire these extensions from? Thanks in advance.

When I sent in for the two free mags, I asked for the ones with the pinky extension. They sent the mags without the extensions. I called and asked for the extensions and they mailed them to me. Bottom line, try calling customer service and asking for them before you buy the entire magazine.

rl356,
Welcome to the forum.
Like you I too like the finger extension on the magazine of the M&P compact(mine is the M&P40c). For me it makes the gun a lot more secure in my hand when I shoot it. I called S&W customer service and they sent me out one free of charge. Can't beat that.

Mine came the same way 356,
One with, one without. I think S&W could find a lot of interest giving the pinky mag extension it's own part number?

Thanks for the info. I'll try calling customer service to see about getting the extensions.

Where exactly is this part located in your online catalog?

Sorry I saw this post late, but when I got my two free mags neither one had the finger rest. I called S&W and sent me two free finger rests. Then I called a few months later to purchase (2) more finger rests and they sent me those for free also. Love those people.

Call them before you purchase and they'll at least send the free one you are missing from the rebate/free mag offer.

Here's the email S&W sent my on my missing finger rest inquiry.

"Hi, to obtain additional finger rest call our service dept. at 1-800-331-0852 ext 2905."

I am the opposite, don't need the extensions......so I called with the correct part number and they just sent me two of the regular floorplate( they are I believe 98 cents apiece), no charge. Probably costs more to precess the order than to just drop a couple in an envelope.

.98 is what they said the finger extensions cost as well. Then the high price the stores are asking and saw some on eBay awhile back for $9.99, dang crocks they are. If ever need any more I'll go with S&W parts service again for the .98. That's way I bough S&W, it's true you do get what you pay for, here I received great CS.

My M&P40c fits my right front pocket better with the short floorplate. I have one with the finger rest and like it, but the short one works just fine and will come out of my pocket much easier.
Phil
