Follow up to the warrnty issues. Hats off to the the guys at the warranty repair shop. The gun was sent back several months ago when it would not cycle, stovepipe cases, failure to return to battery.
Got it back, same problems occurred. Sent it back, 6 weeks later it was returned. They replaced the barrel (first time return was sent back to me stating no problem found)
Ran several mags thru this morning, 115 and 124's, FMJ and JHP.
Ran like its supposed to, no jams, no problems whatsoever.
So, while I was disappointed with results of first return, the second time around was great results. I may now look at the 10mm version of the M&P.
Thanks again to the folks at the repair facility.

I'm glad it ended up working out. It sucks that it took two attempts and multiple months to get the issue resolved, but at least they figured it out and fixed it for you.

P.s. good choice on the FDE. FDE makes almost every gun more beautiful.

Very frustrating that it took so long. I have a new revolver that does not function right out of the box. I sent it in for repair, it looks like it will be about three months until I get it back (hopefully sooner) that's just terrible customer service!

Warranty is a bottom line expense

In my several years of being in manufacturing, running a QC department, and seeing first hand the effect of the financial folks, companies take reducing warranty claims higher than actual customer service.
It's a business decision and everything manufactured and offered with a warranty causes problems for everyone in the company even the sales people.
While I understand this as most of you do, it still doesn't make sense to shoot yourself in the foot over poor customer service. While there is no such thing as the "perfect" product, how you address the issue with your customers has a huge impact. I love my S&W's, but management is taking a huge risk that I won't buy their competition.
