Stopped at the local range and rented the M&P 5 in Pro Series (non Core) and I was impressed with it except for one thing. The shells were ejecting straight back most of the time, hitting my face, head or right shoulder. I have the 9mm Shield and do not have the issue. Wondering if anyone has experienced this and if so what did you do to resolve it. I would hope if I purchase a new one I may not even have that issue but it does bring up a concern prior to purchase.

My 9mm Pro ejects empties pretty straight out to the right, I don't have any issue with brass hitting me at all and I shoot left-hand most of the time.
May be simply a lack of proper extractor lubrication.

It was a rental and who knows how long it has been since they cleaned it. Thanks for the comment.

I've got a 9L Pro Core, 35K rounds, never been hit with a piece of brass (from my pistol anyway, next lane however....)

Rental guns are hard to judge since they are not well maintained, my SD handguns get clean and inspected fairly regular and if I see anything that is worn out I replace it including the springs. I would not be discouraged because of the experiences with that particular gun.

I have some handguns that do that. My 9Pro 5 inch is not one of those.

I bought an "older" 5" Pro in 9mm. Took it to the range and the 51 rounds I shot, I had zero problems with the brass. I watched the darling husband shoot it (the reason I only got to shoot 51 rounds through it, he was always shooting it, lol) and I watched where the brass went. No issues, throws 99% consistently to the right. One did go, back kind of and then to the right.
