Sorry, have nothing to complain about with my new 9 mm shield. Other than I can't shoot it very well, but that's operator error, nothing wrong with the Shield. My experience so far has been very good, from time of purchase, purchase price, and performance of it so far.

I have shot about 250 rounds through it, mostly 115 gr FMJ, but a few hollow points as well, and it has gone bang every time. The slide always locks back on last shot. If there is anything to complain about, it would be the difficulty of getting 8 rounds into the magazine, but I am using a maglula loader to help with that. I also expect it to get easier, the more loading cycles that the magazine goes through.

My wife was the one who picked it out and she is happy with it so far, the magazine stiffness being the only thing she doesn't like about it. She likes the way it fits her hand, and finds the recoil to be very tolerable. So far, this has been a very good choice.

Glad you're liking it. I intend to take mine to the range again this weekend. Still trying to get used to it, and getting used to shooting properly, too.

i have the 9 and 40 shield and they do take time to get use to but groups will start tightening up just have to get use to a 3 in. barrel
now I'm shooting 3-4 inch groups off hand at 50 ft. with my hand loads

My first day or few with my 9mm Shield were rather frustrating too. Practice did lead eventually to great confidence and enthusiasm. That this little gun feels so comfortable to shoot and to carry is impressive to me. Keep working on it. If you have a facility for it, do some point shooting drills not caring too much about sight pucture. Doing this helped me fine tune my grip and trigger pull on the smaller, narrower handle of the Shield compared to other full size pistols I use. Love this gun now after wondering *** following first range visits.

I too am having a difficult time accurately shooting my wife's 9mm shield. I shoot 8 shots & can never get a good grouping like I do with my Sig P229 40 cal. At less then 15yrds not too bad but any time I shoot over 15yrds seems like I get 1 or 2 fliers out of 8. Could it be too small for my hands that is the problem? I have shot 400 rounds through this gun & just don't feel confident with it. I would love any suggestions on how to improve my accuracy with this gun because it is easier to conceal & carry then my p229.

Glad you like your Shield I also like my new Shield. In my case it did take a little time to get used to the new feel. I have a Ruger SR9E I have been shooting! Big compared to small, At first I was all over the place with my shots, Now at 15 ft I can bump 3 mags in 5/6" group at 10 ft my group is about 3/4" so IMO start at 10 ft + or - till you get a feel for it then move out from there, I just ordered 1000 rounds of 9mm so hopefully I can dial my shooting in with that lol Have fun
Print these targets up they should help letting you know why you are drifting! FREE is a good thing lol

My feeling is the Shield is far from a target gun. And as we know most self defense shootings are under 7 yards. So that's all I practice is 7 yards and under. Even when I take my 640 Pro to the range I keep it under 7 yards. So the only thing I can suggest is keep it under 7 yards and I think you will be very confident with the Shield. :)

I agree with you 100% In my case I want to try and be real good with mine at 10 yards :) and great with it at :D 15ft. once I become great at 10/15 ft I want to keep ranging out  Hopefully I can hit the target from the 50 ft line,

Congrats on the new Shield.
Once you start getting good tight groups with it, shooting larger pistols will be a breeze. :)

New Shield 9mm

Bought new Shield 9mm on Friday. Put 175 rounds though on Saturday. The spring was tight at first, but has loosened up some. Wife really like the size and feel of the new gun.
I did have 2 FTE with Blazer alum case ammo. I will try Blazer Brass next time out. There is a difference in the lip of the casing of the alum to brass.
Overall I am very happy with the Shield.

I just burned about 100 rounds this week with my new shield, No issues with Blazer Brass 115 gr.. I also burned about 800 rounds of Federal Aluminum case 115 in my SR9E no issue,, I will try them in my Shield when I burn through my new batch of ammo from Freedom! I never noticed a case difference w/aluminum or brass ,, Ill have to look Thanks for the info
