M&P Bodyguard and Galloway

First off, my google search foo is about as useless as the little girl Justin Bieber. I can't seem to find any links/threads on this forum so, I come to you gents for an opinion (yes I know).

The BG will be a b.u.g or swim trunks carry pistol. I like the smoothness of the trigger and I don't mind the #s of the pull. But, that break at the very back of the guard and reset.....not so fond of it. So, here is my question for those that have actually experienced it.....

Is the Galloway kit worth the $100? Or should I just cowboy up and learn to love the factory trigger?

The BG380 is intended to be a pocket pistol for conceal carry permit holders, that's why it has that longer trigger pull...I would get as much time as you can in the range & get used to it...

You do not want a "hair trigger" in your pants and there are legal ramifications in the court room to consider if you are ever in a position to defend yourself as you're being drilled about a trigger mod that allows a much lighter pull...

I agree but, they claim it does not lighten the pull at all. It only shortens the pull by a certain percent, with a shorter and more tactile reset. My edc's are all factory configed.

The Galloway kit makes the older BG trigger pull similar to the newer BG trigger pull. The kit is only for the older Body Guards. It does not lighten the pull, but shortens the pull and moves the break point forward, away from the trigger guard by about 1/4 inch +/-.

I just bought this BG (non laser) on Sunday and the trigger breaks at the very rear of the stroke but, it is smooth as butter. Half way through the reset you get a click (this is not the reset) then another at the very front (actual reset).

I don't want to lighten the pull, just break earlier and a shorter positive reset.

I put this trigger on my M&P BG 380 (that is the one without the laser).

I really like the change - not lighter, but definitely shorter (and adjustable).

One thing I did have to do was add a little Loctite to the adjustment screw.

I just learned about this trigger a few min before reading this post. I was just about to post the same question. I am only half thinking of getting the BG380 at this time.

I liked the Bodyguard and bought the M&P version in October after renting one at the range.I did not like the long pull or trigger so I immediately ordered and then installed the Galloway trigger bar and trigger.I could not be happier with the change.

Sorry with my earlier post, but the kit works on all Bodyguards. I was getting the BG confused with the Ruger LCP to which the Galloway kit only works on the older versions. The results with the kit are the same with both guns, shorter pull with the break point moved forward.

Did you swap out the springs as well including the hammer spring?

light strikes

I have the newer M&P bodyguard. The trigger pull was long but smooth. At the range I got 3 light strikes out of 20 rounds with CCI primers. I ordered the galloway hammer spring and installed it. Real heavy trigger, I don't like it. Off to the range to test. I didn't get the whole trigger kit as I didn't mind the long pull. I seen a test on you tube where someone installed the whole kit. The trigger pull is shortened because the hammer throw is shortened. The person still got light primer strikes. The hammer spring was heaver but hammer stroke was shorter. One canceled the other.
