What calibers would you like to see the new M&P FPC offered in? Check all that apply.

The only one I would buy is the 9mm version currently being offered. Ammo for 9mm is relatively inexpensive and I have 9mm M&P magazines. But I can understand people that are 40 and 45 fans wanting one in those calibers.

But I don't think a 10mm version would be a good idea. It would take a very heavy bolt and spring to make a reliable blowback 10mm PCC. If I need more power than than 9, 40 or 45 can provide I would rather have a gas operated gun like an AR chambered in a rifle caliber.

I have a 9mm PCC that accepts my Glock magazines with my Ruger and I'm perfectly happy with that combination. If Smith were to bring out the FPC in .45acp then they would get to sell me the carbine and an M&P pistol to share mags. Hear me S&W, it'd be a twofer!

I know it's a small sample size, but i love that only 1/3 picked 9mm. Am I the only one who hates that 9mm seems to be darn near the only option for everything anymore? I like 9mm. It's a great cartridge, but it's like that hit song on the radio that you hear 4 times a day until you hate, hate, hate its guts.

I understand what you are saying, but as I only own a 9mm M&P, there's only one way I can vote.;)

I'm one of the unwashed/unclean that still likes a 40 s&w, so it got my vote. A 45 is also a favorite of mine. I would buy a 9mm, but my Camp 9 handles that chore very well right now.

I still remember waiting (somewhat unpatiently) for the 45 Shield to come out. It's a keeper and is carried more than anything else I own. But I'd still like a 40 in a carbine.

When they build one without the folding stock feature then, and only then, will I worry about what caliber(s) they're producing.

I traded for one two days ago. The owners manual mentions a 40 S&W model as well as 9mm. Wonder if this was a mistake in printing?

I switched the mag release button to the right side even though I am right handed. I did send an email to an AR stock builder to see if they would be interested in making a thinner rear stock. I offered to lend them mine for a pattern.

I traded in (even up) for a like new Ruger LC Carbine (5.7 x 24). The Sig Romeo5 red dot I had on the Ruger now sits on the FPC. The Ruger folding stock was a PITA to open. The S&W system is great. I have owned two KelTec folding 9mm rifles and I like the FPC much better.

Will get to the range ASAP and post a report.

40s&w

I want it in .40S&W as that is what most of my carry guns are. But I don’t expect that to happen.

It's so refreshing to see that other people still like 40 like I do. Most of the time, if .40S&W is brought up, it's to knock it or say that it's a dying caliber. Thank God I'm not the only odd ball(though the only gun I actually carry is a .45).

The manual that came with my FPC indicated several calibers, the one I'd like to add is the 5.7x28. It would make a great truck/SUV gun out here in coyote/fox/bobcat country.

Some think everyone needs to shoot what they are shooting, I’m not one of those. There are a lot of people that carry M&P’s using .40S&W and .45ACP. You would think all three would be their target market. Maybe we will both get the caliber we want.

If we’re going that far, I'd like to see more systems in this format use the 7.5FK.

But I don't know if 7.5FK could be adapted to simple blowback due to the high pressure.

I tried adding 30 SC and 380 to the poll but didn't see a way to do so.

Actually 30 super carry might be pretty good.

It's a very high pressure round and might keep accelerating in that 16" barrel.

Plus what, 20% more ammo per mag?

Almost all 5.7 firearms are blow back operated except for some of the AR15’s and the DB 57, including the PS90.
