A friend of mine just bought a M&P 9mm compact and I remember some one making a sleeve or spacer to fill the gap when a full size mag is inserted into a compact...much like SA XD used...who was it and where can he order them from? Can't remember at all.

Funny you should mention!
Mine just arrived today (5-6 week wait) I snatched them out of the mail box on my way to work tonight. customcarryconcepts.com $13.00 each. (Postage was included when I ordered) My application, is to run full size M&P 9 mag's (17+1) in my M&P9c. (12+1).
Thanks again to Wyatt Earp!

UPDATE
Make sure you check with a full magazine, with action closed, for full lock upon magazine insertion! Of two full size M&P magazines (both new) once the magazine spacers were installed, one exhibited the tendency to NOT want to make it to "lock" on a full mag with action closed. I suspect one collar is a bit long? I'll dial caliper them in the morning. It's not by much, a firm insertion "smack" seats the mag to lock. More as learned.

UPDATE/UPDATE-
One of the two collars had a bit of roughness of material at the 90 degree off set notched area, that adapts the collar to the "tool" area of the grip frame. It was only .00150" and just enough to cause the issue. Two "whiff" passes with my triple fine flat file and presto! No more problem! Easily done, as the collars are made of a similar material to the frame itself. Glad they're here!

I ordered the X-grip from Top Gun last week. Still don't have it, and it wasn't back-ordered.

The X-Grip I ordered from Top Gun arrived last night. It really makes a difference in the feel of the M&P compact with the full size grip; I'll probably carry it with the full-size magazine most of the time, unless I really need to conceal, then I'll use the flat floorplate mags, not the finger extension.
The grip is ultra-easy to install, just slip it down over the magazine; no latches, screws, or anything to hold it to the magazine. It is slightly loose when the magazine is not in the gun, once locked in place, the grip is stable.
Good piece of equipment for $12.95.
