Hello, all I recently finished upgrading the exterior of my M&P15x. Since I bought the rifle, the logo on the mag well has been bothering me. I am trying to make the rifle as "tactical" as possible, and just dont like the big white letters.

Is there any way to remove the logo that anyone knows of?

Tactical as in all black? Don't see how that matters really but you could always get a black paint marker and go over it. I've seen such markers at my LGS.

you can also use HighTemp Stove flat black...it matches beautifully and would cover it right up....

You want to make your M&P15X "more tactical?" Planning a trip to Iraq with a personally owned rifle? :)

Seriously, I cannot see how having the logo removed will help you for the uses that such a rifle will be put on "light duty"* here in the US. On the other hand, you could do what Larry Vickers did on his TV program a couple of years ago. Degrease and then spray paint your own camo pattern.

*For purposes of this post, light duty is non-military personal defense or LE use.

I like the logo since it identifies my rifle as one of quality. If you think removing the logo makes it more "tactical" then that's certainly your choice. you've been given some good suggestions on how to do so.

Personally, I think the way to make it more tactical is to run it through the sand and bush so it looks like it's been used. A scratch free safe queen isn't tactical, but that's how I like mine, lol.

Fortunately my M&P 10 does not have the white lettering, or I would also be wondering how to get rid of it.
To me, the white lettering is just cheap and tacky looking.
Maybe acetone would dissolve whatever they use to highlight the letters with. Acetone will not harm a blued or parkerized finish. Test in a non visible area first, such as inside the mag well. You can find acetone at almost any hardware or paint store.

The lettering is not as bright in your hand as is shown with photographs. Nobody has ever given me a hard time about owning a Smith and Wesson, revolver or AR. But when I order stripped lowers I don't buy with white lettering.
