Does the metal M&P m2.0 come with a stainless steel glide rod or is it polymer? If it is polymer can I replace it with a stainless steel glide rod?

The ISMI metal spring assembly with steel guide rod and flat wound spring that S&W uses in the M&Ps is superior to any after market substitute--except those that are also using ISMI. Even if you shoot 20,000 rounds in a year, you can just change the ISMI for a new one at the end of the year.
In my experience, get some spare trigger springs, and be sure the fiber damper is undamaged by cleaner. Also spare strikers, and carefully inspect at every cleaning for chipping. DO NOT oil the striker assembly, the nylon sleeve is the "lube."
Have fun with your M&P. I have.

Thank You OKFC05 , that is importance information to know .
Being a 1911 fanboy I have always run them wet and had excellent results doing so but my new M&P 2.0 SUBCOMPACT is a different animal so I lube the rails and a little on the barrel but nothing on the fire control parts. Since having my gunsmith install an Apex trigger assembly I am loving this pistol . Trigger now measures 4 lb 14 ozs with about 1/3 the original take up , very smooth and not " mushy " like many striker fired pistols..
I have the manual safety version so don't need to retrain..
I did have a first generation Sheild that was in my carry rotation .
