I have an M&P9, it's my go to HD and CC gun. I shoot it great and its been 100% reliable. The one thing that bugs me is the seemingly sloppy slide to frame fit. It's like nothing I've experienced on any other quality gun. It doesn't seem to effect accuracy, as 3" groups at 25yds off hand is the norm. But I still find it odd. The play I'd say is about 1mm of movement to either side. Is this just a normal design feature? Perhaps to increase reliability in adverse conditions?

Seeing daylight between the slide and frame still freaks me out. They sure do shoot well despite all the slop. :D

One of the "issues" with students who have 1911s is that they want to redesign the plastic tupperware instead of just learning to shoot it.

They are a new breed, and it is far better to just learn how to shoot them rather than try to redesign them or "fix" things that don't need fixing. The "return to battery position" is important, not whether you see daylight or can move the slide by hand.
