Only copy of this promotion I can find has this on the back,....

THIS OFFER VALID ONLY FOR RESIDENTS OF ALASKA, CALIFORNIA, COLORADO, CONNECTICUT,
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, HAWAII, ILLINOIS, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, NEW JERSEY, AND NEW YORK.
Offer limited to one $75.00 rebate check per eligible firearm purchase (subject to serial number and sales receipt verification). Offer valid
on any NEW full size model M&P® M2.0™ pistol, any NEW full size or compact model M&P® pistol, and any NEW M&P Shield® pistol,
all in calibers 9mm, 40S&W, and 45Auto, lawfully purchased between July 1, 2017 and September 30, 2017 (inclusive).

Doesn't look like it's available nationwide nor does it cover the .22C that I'd like to pick up. I have to admit I don't comprehend why Alaska's on that list. It reads like a "One of these things is not like the Other" game.

it's a rebate for "ban states". the other states are getting a "you get 2 mags + 2 boxes of Critical defense + a mag loader" package deal. Like the springfield rebate, that's why.

If that's the case, looks like I have three more months to decide what I want seeing as how they consider Illinois a "ban" state.

I don't need another gun, I don't need another gun, I don't need another gun, I don't need another gun... maybe if I say this long enough it will be October. But I must admit I am weakening and going to end up buying a shield. :)

You can always use another M&P. I want to get the 22 compact and the 2.0 9mm compact fde if they make one someday. Maybe the 45 Shield, but I am spoiled only paying $9-$10 for 9mm ammo. That even adds up fast since I started shooting at least once per week.

Best guess is that AK is on the cash-only list due to the rules on shipment of ammo by air. These would make the cost of getting 2 boxes of ammo from the lower 48 to an individual in AK prohibitive.

I don't think FedEx or UPS do ground shipments to AK through Canada, and even if they did do that in general I'm sure the Canadians wouldn't allow ammo to move on their highways without some extravagant permit process. I also don't think shipment by sea is readily available for mailbox size packages, and if it were, who wants to wait months for their rebate to arrive? Oh, wait . . .

HI is one of the worst anti-gun states in the country, but certainly has the same transportation difficulties that AK has. So it's probably on the cash-only list for 2 reasons.
