Looking for any recommendations for a good OWB holster for a Shield 9mm for CCW. I will most likely order from Ray at Lobo again, but looking for other recommendations. I don't like thumb snaps.

I was looking for a cheaper owb to fit the bill for the same gun. My desantis mini scabbard should come in the mail today. I'll let you know how it feels once I try it on.

Just opened the package up and tossed it on my belt.

First impressions: Thin leather, good fit to the shield, much more comfortable than IWB, great retention.

I had to loosen up the retention screw a hair. The holster is pretty tight around the gun right now, it should loosen up once I wear it around for a few days. For now, on the draw, I find myself having to sort of kick my right hip out and back to apply tension between the holster and belt, so that the holster doesn't pull up with the gun. After drawing multiple times, it just works out anyway because I use that hip movement to pivot step back, giving me a bit more distance between me and what I'm drawing on. The draw is very fast compared to IWB that I'm used to.

I'd recommend the desantis mini scabard for OWB. It's not too pricey, and it gets the job done. I'm sure with more practice the draw will feel more normal, and the holster will break in quite well.

EDIT: Wore around house for a bit, tightened belt up. Draw is already much smoother, and this thing is very comfortable. Yes, some expensive pretty leather would be nice, but for the price and quality, this desantis is hitting the spot.

Love my Wright Leather Works one for my Shield. Also love my StitchDex one for my Bodyguard.
