Other than the obvious barrel sizes available, what are the differences in engineering between the M&P Shield 9mm PC vs. M&P 2.0?

Is the 2.0 of better quality than the PC Shield?

I have shot them both from 7 meters and really like them a lot.

Thank you!

Since you've shot them both I think you should give us your review.

I have a PC Shield and have handled the M2.0 at a retail store. Trigger pull on both are pretty decent as far as a factory trigger goes. The thing that impressed me the most was the grip / Stippling on the 2.0. Loved it. Maybe they'll start doing that to all M&P's. 👍

Personally the 2.0 stippling is too aggressive. The std shield stippling is not aggressive enough. The shield 45 is just right.

I also peesonally do not like ported barrels of the PC shield but love the trigger.

I wish they would make a 1.5 version of the shield. That has the factory PC trigger and the stippling of the shield 45acp. Top it with tritium and fiber optic night sights and it would be perfect! At least for a carry gun.

YMMV

Stay tuned ..... Just what you are asking is rumored to be announced at the 2018 Shot show..the new 2.0 Shield 9mm and 40........

Different strokes for different folks I guess on the stippling. I thought it was perfect. I see the 2.0 as more of a home defense/range pistol, so the stippling seems perfect. I have also handled the Shield 45 and it to was very nice.

I like both guns but they serve completely different functions.

The Shield is a wonderful, compact, accurate close-defense / SD pistol with a low magazine count and small frame while the 2.0 is a FS gun with FS frame - great for HD. Larger capacity, better sights, and the ability to mount anything from red dots to lights/lasers.

The stippling on a Shield .45 is spot - on, and I have no problem with the stippling on the 2.0, but I would only wear that OWB...not against the skin. The Shiled 9mm needs stippling or a rubber grip...it's pretty slippery for a self-defense pistol.

My opinions only.
