I have M&P9 and mid size 45 that of the two, I am a tad bit more accurate with the 9. Also shoot a 4006TSW that compares favorably to the M&P9. One thing noteworthy is that the M&P9 gets more practice than the other 2 guns combined, so that may explain the why it feels and shoots more accurate than the other two..zorro49
I have an M&P40, a 4006, and a 4003. By far, hands down the M&P is more accurate for me. I love the way my 4003 shoots but the M&P grip just fits my hand and it 'points' so well.
I concur with the group. I have carried 3903,4506,4006, & a 5903 as a duty guns (couldnt be content after I had to give up my M58 in the name of progress),still have a 3904 (w/barsto barrel-a silk purse exercise...) and a 3913. My M&P Pro will out shoot all of the above.
I shoot them both about the same, actually. However, I shot my M&P as well as I do my 5906 the first time I shot it. But I ain't that good a shot anyway...
I have an M&P 9 and an '89 5906. Ok, ok..I'll admit, the M&P seems to group a little better, holds more rounds and it's a little (ok, a lot) lighter...but dammit the 5906 has so much more character/appeal!! I love em both, S-W's rule.
This afternoon S&W 4506 @ 25Yds standing eight magazines of (8) rounds each for total of (64) rounds. Some day I'll have to test a MP but at the moment this old 3rd generation meets my requirements.
Me too, my M&P45 flat smokes my 4506 for accuracy and comfort. I still love my 4506 though and wouldn't part with it for anything. The double action feature alone is it's best feature IMO, it's just like having an 8 shot revolver ready to go in the nightstand. As much as I like my M&P I still don't like the idea of having a gun with a loaded chamber and a "cocked" spring sitting there waiting for murphy's law to be enacted.
