M&P15-22 here

Finally took the plunge and picked up a new M&P15-22 this morning. No chance to fire it yet; hopefully this weekend. Guess I'll have to learn to shoot right handed, my heart doctor say NO rifles left handed due to implant. And I'm left handed. But wanted it bad enough that I guess I can switch sides.

Plain for now. Also, anyone know where to look for manufacture date by serial number? I know that the small number on handgun boxes gives year,month,and date the gun left the factory new and ready to ship. Not sure if that's the same on long guns or not.

Congratulations. You'll be pleased with it.

I bought mine about 10 days ago and I'm very happy with it. I won't add many mods but I did put the rubber grip ($17.00) on it, as well as a carry handle ($35.00 - I like that style) and the flash hider ($8.00 plus about $50.00 to have the barrel threaded) is on the way, again just because I like the style.

Also, I highly recommend cleaning it prior to shooting (per the owner's manual) and reading many threads here. The information on this forum has been a huge help to me.

BMW racer, where did u find the carry handle? Also looking for some more 25 round magazines. Thought they were on the SW site but didn't see them.
