I didn't take this apart, I assembled it. Midway USA's Larry Potterfield has excellent videos on YouTube.

I know this isnt what the OP was inquiring on, but as someone new to the AR platform (just got my Sport 2 last year) this mat and it's diagrams that I picked up seem to help as far as basic steps and details.
May be a good useable option for those starting out anyway.
