M&P15T handrail replacement?

Hi everyone,

New here and new owner of a new M&P15T (not the the tactical 2).

1- Looking for advice on “must do / must not do” before taking it to the range.

2- I would like to replace the 10" Free-Float Quad Rail (secured with 4 bolts) that it came with a full length handguard. Looking for direct replacement. Searched but can’t find any info on what specific handrail to get. Lots of info on the M&P Sport II but none on the Tactical that I could find. Unfortunately they do not have the same mounting point to the best of my observation.

Any help with links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

'Must Do'- Clean it, lube it, learn it, shoot it.

Then you can research from here to the moon on all the different add-ons available.

'Must Not Do' - Don't start pissing money away on accessories until you learn the weapon system completely and are familiar with it. The only accessory you NEED right now is a sling. Preferably of the 2 point variety.

I'm told you have to grind off the front site if you want to put a longer handrail on. Instead of modifying mine, I just bought a full upper...much easier and a much better barrel than what S&W provides.
