Just bought a new M&P22 (Not the Compact) on GunBroker. I thought I had read they come with an adaptor for 1/2X28 suppressor. Much to my disappointment, when I opened the box-NO adaptor. Now I can't find any info that says it does come with an adaptor. Where does one find an adaptor that fits this gun?

Too many places to list, do a search on M&P22 thread adapter and pick one of your liking.

I personally use SilencerCO version since I'm using a sparrow on my M&P22.

Don't have one but don't recall from other posts that they come with one. I do recall that getting the thread protector off can be challenge. You need a real narrow wrench and some heat.

The gun comes with a little narrow wrench. Silencerco and the Silencer Shop did not have any adaptors so I ordered one from a supplier on Ebay. Should be here by Friday, although my can is still in NFA jail.

I was warned ahead of time that the barrel cap would most likely be heavily loctited on. When I went to remove the cap from the barrel on my M&P22 Compact I managed to clamp the barrel in my vise blocks and carefully applied light heat from a propane torch right to the cap area only. The wrench provided is pretty weak, so you don't have much torque to work with. My barrel cap came off with a little persuasion but the threads were covered in locking compound. Be forewarned.

Thanks much. This is valuable information.

I happened to be on the S&W website today, trying to get customer service to answer. No luck. I was on hold for 37 minutes when I gave up. While on hold I was looking around the website and they have an adaptor for the M&P22 Compact, but none listed for the full size. I find that curious.

My thread protector was not loctited nor was there an adapter enclosed.
I also bought a Hughes Precision adapter.
It is tight going on as if there is a small taper. It works and it shouldn’t loosen up with use either.
We’ll see whenever I get a suppressor to put on it.
