If you do have one, what has your experience been? Likes and dislikes? What kind of velocities are you getting with 165 and 180gr pills? Any ammo it doesn't like?
I didn't care for the triggers on the 1.0 version but am considering giving the 2.0 a try.
Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

I had a .40 with FDE frame (4.25" barrel ) and another 4.25" .40 that I Cerakoted in FDE and Desert Sand.

I had been lusting over a 5 inch 2.0 but when I got one I decided to go with the MP9.
Sure has a good feel and balance, good velocities and I get groups that are half of what I got out of my various MP40s.
Have fun with whichever one you end up getting !

Yes. I'm a pretty good shot, rested anyway. (I'm always working on doing better with the offhand). With good loads in my S&W 686 or my Ruger MK IV, I can do 1 inch groups. With all my other handguns, around 2 inches.

But with all of the 40's I had (3 full-size and one PC Shield) I was only able to group 3 1/2" to 4 1/2". And I tried a lot of different loads.
I had Apex trigger parts on some, the triggers needed work. But I didn't try the aftermarket barrel route.

This new 5 inch MP9 can group 2 inches with just about everything I've tried through it. A few loads even better.
I was a big .40 guy for years ( and .45 ACP) until I decided to try this 5 inch FDE in 9mm. I still have a couple .45's but am glad I got the 9mm.

I bought an M&P .40 5" with a thumb safety, and I LOVE this gun, I love the factory trigger, I love the short trigger reset, I love the checkering, wear gloves, and I love having 15 rounds of .40 S&W..

Yes the damn thing is hard to shoot accurately, it did NOT like Federal at all, (your milage may vary), it loves 165 and 180 gr., I have gravitated to the 165 gr. Winchester white box, shoot it, shoot it a lot, I've been ruined by lots of old Smith and Wesson revolvers and decent 1911's with awesome triggers......

But, and this is a big but, the M&P .40 5" is a natural battery of arms for the 1911 operator, I am very, very, comfortable with the manual of arms for this weapon, buy the 5", buy the .40, (don't wimp out with the 9 mm) come on, and buy the thumb safety.....

and shoot the hell out of it, it will give up being a diva soon enough, but shoot it a LOT! you're gonna love it, I promise or I will buy it from you if you don't!

you could change the trigger, some people do, but I wouldn't, I like the trigger, and yes, for some strange reason, this thing takes some shooting to get the kind of groups you want... I think it the sights, I'd love to have a set of black Novak's on it, but the sights may be a little tough to change... from hearsay???

buy it, its lovely, and a lot more weapon than those little pea shooter's, I wish it came in 10mm....

Nice group

Nice group by the way, but I love the .40, and you're right, its a lot of work and even more shooting to get close to being as accurate as you know you could be? I love shooting this thing, but I've been shooting my rifles a lot more this summer, and yes, its paying off,, shoot more, burn more ammo, and yes my groups were getting smaller.....

but I love how intuitive the M&P has been for an old 1911 guy, yes I really am old, and my eyes are about 1/2 what they used to be, I would seriously like to try some Novak's on mine, it would cut my groups in 1/2, I KNOW it would...

for what its worth, I shot a friends .40 compact a lot better 5 years ago or so?? so who knows, shoot more, hit more!
