Is it possible to remove the safety from an M&P45 ? If so how and what parts are required to plug the resulting hole?

It is very easy. Drive the coil pin out of the sear block assembly. Lift the assy out. Remove the safety (all parts) and replace the block.

I didn't bother plugging the small holes.

I bought plugs, for the holes in the body, that removing the safety creates. They were only a few bucks, and I figure they would keep out a lot of debris. I'll try to find a link and post it.

Is this pertaining to the ambidextrious safety? I ask because I have this on my 40 and was going to mod it so that I could put CT grips on.

Thanks in advance

When the thumb safety is removed, it leaves behind two tiny holes in the frame. The plugs I was talking about fills those holes.

The plugs on the site your referencing are too the .45 cal or all M&P's .

I'm thinking all M&P's as its filling the gaps for the ambidextrous safety.

TIA

I would be inclined to follow your logic. The frame size is different between the 40 and 45, however it is the same size safety. I can't tell you for sure since I don't have access to the smaller frame size, but it makes sense to me.
