I have an M&P40c and am looking for prices on a .357SIG barrel.

I just came across a .40/.357 to 9mm swap barrel from Storm Lake. It claims that by using their barrel and a 9mm mag I can convert my 40c to 9mm. Does anyone have any experience with the company? Or better yet, this swap?

Select a handgun barrel for Glock 1911 Sig Sauer Springfield at Storm Lake Barrels - Available in Canada and USA

It doesn't seem quite that easy in my mind, seeing that there's no doubt the spring is stouter on the .40/357, but it might work.

I want a S&W barrel for the .357SIG but the option of a 9mm really has my interest. I plan on both.

I heard of guys using these in Glocks and other guns. The 40 breechface is about .030" wider than a 9, a good extractor should catch the rim of a 9 but I wouldn't count on it every time. I would think especially on a compact gun you need a lighter recoil spring. If you go that route just get the 9 recoil rod assy. to use with that barrel.

It's a drop-in swap, the 9 & 40 use the same guide rod/spring assembly, all you need is a 9mm magazine. The ones we tested worked fine but I don't think I'd depend on one for self defense.

I'll stick with the .40 or possibly .357Sig for carry, the 9mm is just for cheaper shooting.

Thanks for the input.

I have a .357 sig barrel for my full size M&P40. It shoots fine with either barrel. Something about a 9mm barrel for a gun machined for a larger cartridge case doesn't quite sit right with me. But I've been wrong many times before.
