M&Pc or Glock 26?

I need some help and hope someone here can help. I have an itch for another sub compact ccw gun. Is there anyone who has any thoughts on the 2 guns compared side by side?

Opinions on the following:
thickness
weight on hip all day
pointability
feel.

I have had the G26 and 27 a few times over, and I know there not a target gun or fun to really shoot alot like a full size gun. I carry a CCO style LW framed Baer 1911 when ever I leave the house in a Sparks IWB holster. I'm just looking at the M&P cause it appers slimmer but I don't know much about them like I do with the Glocks. What are your thoughts?

I saw one of the M&P c 9's at our show this past weekend. Looks like a nice gun and better lines than the Glock but I already have a G26 so I passed, that and another Baer came along.....

You can't get any better than the feel of an M&Pc and, just as they claim, it points as easy as your finger. Weight and thickness are very balanced on this gun.

I carry my 40c all day very comfortably, and I'm sure yours would be right at home in another Sparks (VM2?). Personally, I don't care for Glocks at all. I fired a friend's and 1 mag was enough for me. They have a well deserved record of bullet-proof reliability, but I'm sure these Smith's will achieve just the same.

A close friend is strongly considering a Glock, but I'm taking her to the range this week and hopefully my 40c will talk her out of it.

However, I understand Glocks have a new design, so I'll give them another shot.

I saw your picture over there Chris, it looks like a nice score! Any new Baer is a welcome addition. Curious what they tell you on it also.

I have had a few baby Glocks over the years and they were fine, but the one problem I had was that when I pointed it it was always low when done naturally.

I have carried owned about every Glock that you can legally own in the US. I have shot all of them and shot them well. Well Last month I purchased both the M&P 9 full size and the M&P9C compact for carry. I took them to the range and despite all of my work with the Glocks the M&Ps felt more natural in my hands right away and I was very accurate with both right out of the box. These two pistols are both ragged hole eaters. I have since traded and sold my Glocks off.
I would suggest to go to a range that rents both and try them out.
Personally........I will stay with the M&P's

I posted this same question on the Glock forum and have had 1 person say pretty much the same thing as you. As far as size and carrying the compact size M&P did you like it more or the same as the G26? I also see where you an get a M&P with a 1911 thumb safety, I like that as I am a 1911 fan.

M&Pc

I have carried my 9c for the past 6 months, it is very comfortable and shoots well. I like the M&Ps so much that this weekend my wife bought me an M&P Pro, 200 rounds this weekend and it is amazingly accurate. I guess I'm an M&P nut.

Both carry well and feel pretty much the same on the hip I would say.
Its going to come down to personal prefrence. Mine is just the M&P.

I own both an M&P9c and an M&P40c
They are 100% reliable, accurate, and extremely comfortable in the hand.

I have and shoot Glocks 26 & 27 and also have a full size M&P. I have handled the compact but have not shot it . The feel and comfort of the M&P is much better than a Glock. What feels more comfortable will generaly shoot more accurate for you.
I would go for the M&P.

Glock vs M&P

Lots of folks swear by the Glock. I personally do not like the Glock for several reasons, although I was issued a Glock 27 for duty for awhile and I must admit it is a lot of firepower in a small concealable package. I've caried a number of guns for duty over the years and just never seemed to be able to shoot the Glock as well as the S&W autos. They just never felt right in my hand and I didn't feel like they point as well. I said I would never buy a plastic gun but when I got a chance to handle and shoot the M&P's I changed my mind and recently ordered a M&P 45 compact from the factory to replace my 4566TSW as my carry gun.

I had the chance to shoot a M&P and a Glock the other day and the M&P just felt much better in my hand. I pointed better form me and I liked the trigger better. Niether one was near as accurate as my wheelgun or had the fine trigger pull, but if I had to carry a plastic fantastic I would choose the M&P over the Glock

I shoot both the Glock and S&W M&P9's. I prefer the ergonomics of the M&P series. However for conceakled carry I opted for using either my S&W 642 or Kahr PM-9 in pocket holsters. The smaller the bettter to conceal.

I also have owned most of the Glocks and have no problem with them. That said, I recently got rid of my G27 in favor of the M&P9C. Much better ergos and my support hand shooting is markedly better with the M&P. Also got rid of the G21 and got a M&P45. No comparison! The M&P is my favorite by a long shot.
The main reason I still have Glocks is the investment I have in mags and holsters. If I were starting out, it would be M&P all the way.

If I may put one more into the mix. Springfield XD 40cal 3 inch barrel. I am looking for a CCW and are down to the Glock 27, MP40c and the Springfield XD. All the mfg say thiers are better then the other. I would like some insite on these 40 cal. There is a gun show here in Orlando next week and I would like to try to pin something down.

Buy the M&P. If you don't like it I will trade you a mint Glock 27(less than 50 rounds Through it).

The Glock works perfect and is very accurate. I just don't really care for it. I have owned it since the late 90's and never carried it. Made the mistake of picking up an M&P. It felt much better in my hand.
