Does anyone know if the extractor plunger for the S&W M22A fit our 15-22s?
I see many say the spring for the M22A is compatible, and looking at photos of the plunger on Brownelles it does look similar less the tab.

I'm doing replacement part research and when looking at the parts of the M22A about the spring I noticed that the plunger looks very similar, and I also had heard that the plunger on the early 15-22's did not have the the tab on it and I was curious, if anyone has looked into this.

Secondly if Tacticool's shipping was more reasonable I may have considered it. $12.80 is a little steep as a shipping cost starting point.

OUCH! $13 for shipping is outrageous. All these parts could fit into a $1 small padded envelope and the actual shipping is only around $1. Gouging on shipping cost isn't cool Tacticool.

Yup, my thoughts exactly! I eventually will be ordering parts from Brownelles as they have the parts for my other rifle's that I want to have on hand. I may just get this plunger (as its only $3) to test out at the same time. If I do this I will let others know how it goes.

Don't know but there's a very good chance that the plunger is the old style which should work if you want to go that route. I do know the spring is the same.

I ordered like 2 or 3 of each part, which made the shipping less painful. But the shipping should have been like a dollar with the mass involved.

??? I'm seeing "Priority Mail: $9.50".

WHAT???? But I was on the site just the yesterday and now there are all kinds of new shipping options that are better priced then I had before. I think someone saw my post and made some adjustments! Or maybe there was a site glitch that needed to be fixed.

First class shipping is now $3 for my items. My order has been placed! I hope the original shipping cost was just a website glitch. The new shipping prices are awesome cool, thank you tacticool!

I hope it was a glitch too as I will in the future some time get some from them but in the mean time I found out from Brownells tech's the M22a spring measurements are .825 in length and 0.105 diameter and my 15-22 spring measures 0.827 and 0.108.

I did an order with Brownells for spare parts for my other rifles so I added in the M22a plunger + spring (on back-order go figure) to test/measure. As I was getting free shipping and only cost $5 for both parts. If it takes too longfor the BO I may cancel the spring and get them from tacticool22.com for spares.

I'll let you all know once I get my parts what I find out.

So the short of it... Its the same size and shape except no anti-rotation tab. Easy to install but pain in the behind to get out as nothing much to get a hold of to pull it back. It will be good to keep as a back up to the oem if it goes awol at the range.

Sorry about the shipping glitch. There were some website "updates" and it messed up pretty much everything.
We do have a staff that has to be paid and shipping plus supplies isn't as cheap as people think unfortunately.
Our plunger is super easy to remove because of the dual flats.
Our spring has much more tension (compression resistance actually) than the factory one
