M27 marked 29-2

I have just come across a Model 27 with a 5 inch barrel P&R marked as a 29-2 in the frame. Serial number is N136405 and appears on the usual 2 places on the frame and under the extractor. Has the checkering on top of barrel and rear sight.
Are these rare ??

I wouldn't consider them rare. S&W used frames when needed and sometimes they got mismarked.

It happens. Both to posting in the wrong forum and mismarked S&W revolver frames.
