Got a new M586 a couple of weeks ago. Due to the excessive trigger pull weight in stock form in both single and double action, I ordered a Wilson spring kit and using some Y-tube guides to make the attempt of alleviating this problem.
I used a Lyman electronic trigger pull gauge and sure enough the trigger pull in DA came to 10 lbs, and the SA came to 7 lbs. Then with the Wilson kit I replaced both the trigger rebound spring as well as the strain spring. Then I rechecked everything, it was smooth and I was quite happy with the DA with an ideal pull weight of 8 lbs. However, even though the strain screw was adjusted all the way in, the SA is scary light, comes to 2 lbs 3 oz. The strain screw is still origin and I didn't file or shortened it and it was adjusted now to the max (bottomed out) and yet the SA pull is still too light to my liking. Other than getting a longer strain screw to put more tension on the trigger spring, is that any other way to work on the SA pull to a heavier setting ?
